Genevi.

Genevieve Lund is a sports, lifestyle, and news reporter living in Savannah, GA. Most recently, she was a reporter for WTGS FOX28 in Savannah, Georgia. As a multimedia creator, Genevieve researches, reports, shoots, and edits her own stories. Genevieve has proven that she can handle herself both behind the camera and in front.

Genevieve helped create a weekly segment for WTGS called “Safer Streets Savannah” where she traveled around the Coastal Empire and connected with the community to share their road safety concerns with officials.

While connecting to the audience through television, Genevieve also knows how important it is to connect through social media. Genevieve posted informative, engaging, and fun content on Instagram and TikTok for WTGS.

While Genevieve was a general assignment reporter covering breaking news such as fallen soldiers, Sgt. Breonna Moffett, Georgia and South Carolina Elections, Josephine Wright's lawsuit, or Ahmaud Arbery's family responding to an appeal to overturn his killer's conviction. Genevieve reported live from the field, covered news updates in studio, and would cover sports in the region, and in Atlanta. Her favorite sports stories were spotlighting the Savannah Bananas' cheerleading squad: the Nanas, along with PGA Tour coverage - rain or shine!

Previously, Genevieve was a reporter for UK Sports Network in Lexington, KY. As the lead sports reporter, Genevieve covered breaking and trending sports news in Lexington using social media, and radio broadcast. Management relied on Genevieve to tell sports stories in a compelling way for a news audience, as well as going in-depth on personal stories.

On the side Genevieve interned with NBC's LEX18 where she covered the Breeder's World Cup Championship, and shadowed BBN Gameday. Genevieve also has worked as a host for WRFL radio where she interviewed Ashley Judd on the overturning of Roe v. Wade

Why Journalism?

I’ve been recording videos for as long as I can remember, but in 2019 I decided to take the plunge and dedicate myself to broadcast journalism. Since then, I’ve been very fortunate to have had my work featured in a variety of publications.

I look at each individual as a story waiting to not just be heard, but seen. I see stories in everyday life and do my best to be the medium through which they reach the screen. To find out more about my work, browse my newly updated Journalist Portfolio and get in touch if you have any questions or would like to discuss working together.

I like to talk about sports. In 4th grade I made it a goal to read the sports section of the Star Tribune newspaper everyday. Don't believe me? Ask me anything about the RBI leaders for the MLB in 2009 or the promising high school athletes at the Minnesota tournaments. I grew up watching March Madness basketball with my grandpa each spring while competing for a tiny trophy my mom's family would award to the bracket winner. When I toured the University of Kentucky, the tour guide said that once we graduated we would love the sport of basketball. They were correct. I gained a love for UK basketball and lost my DUKE sweatshirt I wore all of high school.

I like to talk about travel & lifestyle. From a young age I have been passionate about going outside my comfort zone. This past year it was paragliding through the Alps. Another would be hiking to see lava, or trying the top ranked BBQ right here in Lexington at Red State restaurant. What do all of these experiences have in common? I record them and add them to my collection of home videos. My goal this year is to travel to all 50 states - I have two left to go.

My passion for sports, lifestyle, and travel stems from my childhood passions and has continued to follow me to my adulthood. With various digital sports & news experiences, I work daily towards improving local communities and the lives of others by telling their stories.
